Hotel Ladinia began as a farmhouse and home of the Fistill family, guardians of Ladin tradition and the history of La Villa, deeply rooted in rural life and the valley’s cultural identity.
In 1892, the house was transformed into one of La Villa’s first inns, “Gasthaus Ladinien,” also becoming a post office and a central meeting point for locals and travelers alike.
During the Great War, the building was requisitioned and turned into a military hospital, with an operating room on the ground floor and recovery spaces for wounded soldiers outside.
In the 1930s, daughter Valburga and her husband Cesare took over the hotel, maintaining public services like the post office and tobacco shop while expanding hospitality for tourists.
In 1947, Marcello was born. After a career as a downhill skiing champion, he took over the hotel in 1974, modernizing it to meet the growing demands of Alpine tourism.
In 1980, Marcello expanded the hotel by converting an old barn into guest apartments, enhancing comfort and offering greater independence for visitors.
In 2025, Marcello’s wife Klaudia led a new renovation, continuing the family tradition with heartfelt hospitality that blends Ladin roots and modern Alpine comfort.
